ICC Manufacturing’s new headquarters is taking shape, and we’ve reached an exciting milestone: e-house operations have officially moved into our new facility at 2150 N 2200 W in Salt Lake City.

Moving operations into the new building has required extensive preparation to ensure the facility can safely and efficiently accommodate e-houses, skids, and other heavy equipment. To get e-houses and other large equipment into the building, we recently removed a 52,000-pound piece of the exterior wall to install a new bay door.

When you’re moving equipment that weighs thousands of pounds, the smallest crack can cause big problems. That’s why a team of specialty contractors sealed every crack and seam, grinding down the floor of our new building to be glass-smooth and level to within 1/16 of an inch. The ultra-smooth floor allows us to use battery-operated, remote-controlled skates to move e-houses, skids, and other heavy equipment precisely and safely.

The new building also comes with new equipment. The ICC team had a productive training session in June with Rocky Mountain Lifts and Equipment on their innovative mobile column system. These lifts will allow our teams to safely maneuver e-houses and other large equipment on and off delivery trucks, positioning them for our teams to begin panel installation and other work.

We’ve also made significant lighting upgrades throughout the facility to improve visibility and create a safer, more effective environment for team members to perform intricate work.

Together, these improvements are transforming ICC Manufacturing’s new building into a facility designed to support increased capacity, greater flexibility, and improved productivity as we continue to grow. We look forward to moving our panel manufacturing and other aspects of the business over next!
